SW News: A fire broke out late Saturday evening at Incarnation Catholic Church in USA’s Orlando, destroying nearly the entire interior. Considering the fire happened on the first anniversary of the United State Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade which legalized abortion 50 years ago, there are worries about anti-Catholic violence still continuing in the country.

According to the advocacy group CatholicVote, Carl Humphreys, who owns a laundry across the street, saw the fire at 11:30 p.m. He said that they saw smoke while recording a music video in the laundromat late that night and quickly realized that there was a fire.

According to accounts, Humphreys ran to the church and banged on the door, but no one replied. Given that he was alone outside, he dialed 911, and eight fire engines and first responders doused the incident within 15 minutes.

According to Fr. William Holiday, Incarnation's vicar, the interior was entirely destroyed, with the exception of the sacristy, which housed the vestments, hosts, and a portrait of the Blessed Mother.

A member of the congregation, James Leiter, characterizes the inside of the church as appealing and welcoming and expresses hope that it will be restored. Incarnation is a congregation of the Saint Peter's Chair Ordinariate. In 2012, Pope Benedict XVI founded the Anglican-Catholic Ordinariate. Despite being in total communion with the Pope, the parishioners maintain some customs peculiar to the Anglican Church.

Officials of various departments are investigating the cause of the blaze and the possibility of arson is not being ruled out. Ever since Roe v. Wade was overturned by the US Supreme Court last year, the attacks on Catholic churches, chapels and pregnancy centers have gone up across America.
