North Carolina:
Magen David Adom (MDA), Israel's national ambulance and emergency service agency, recently received a generous donation from the Rev. Franklin Graham and Samaritan's Purse, a charitable Christian organization dedicated to global humanitarian efforts. The donation, consisting of fourteen new ambulances, was made during a dedication ceremony on Tuesday, January 23.
Expressing his support for MDA, Graham conveyed his belief in the organization's crucial mission, emphasizing the selfless dedication of its members who risk their lives to save others. Samaritan's Purse shared with Fox News Digital that Graham recognized the urgent need for replacing the ambulances and decided to contribute to ensure the immediate enhancement of MDA's fleet.
During the October 7 attack on innocent Israeli civilians, around 1,200 people lost their lives, and 14 Israeli ambulances were destroyed by Hamas terrorists. Additionally, 19 medics have tragically lost their lives since the beginning of the conflict. Samaritan's Purse has taken steps to address this crisis by replacing the 14 ambulances that were destroyed. Looking ahead, the organization plans to further support Magen David Adom by providing seven additional ambulances in the coming months.
The ceremony unfolded at the National Library in Jerusalem, featuring addresses from Yaakov Blitshtein, the director-general of Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion, and Eli Bin, the director-general of Magen David Adom, who addressed grieving family members.
"Countries and international organizations opted to avert their gaze, neglecting the distressing ordeals faced by the people of Israel…"
"There are no words sufficient to bring solace or convey the profound sorrow we feel for your losses," expressed Eli Bin, as reported by Samaritan's Purse.
On Tuesday, Reverend Franklin Graham also announced Samaritan's Purse commitment to support MDA. The organization will collaborate with local municipalities to establish new ambulance stations in communities that remain under persistent threat, as outlined in their official statement.
Beyond assisting emergency medical services, Samaritan’s Purse has contributed by delivering 18,500 food boxes, distributing almost 4,000 hot meals, and issuing over 18,000 food vouchers to families facing hardship.
Originating from North Carolina, the organization has further supplied 1,000 advanced trauma life support kits to aid the country’s emergency responders.
Upon the outbreak of the war, Samaritan’s Purse swiftly deployed a disaster assistance response team to Israel, as disclosed to Fox News Digital. They are persistently collaborating with local municipalities and church partners to address the immediate needs of civilians undergoing distress.
