SW News: In the US state of Tennessee, Governor Bill Lee has called for an inquiry into the Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), after an employee made remarks on the money-spinning nature of transgender surgeries performed there.

Matt Walsh, an internet host for The Daily Wire, shared the faculty’s comments on his show. “The Matt Walsh Show”, revealing the consequences faced by conscientious objectors to gender realignment surgery.

The videos obtained by Walsh also indicate threats against medical professionals at VUMC if they objected to the procedures, even for religious reasons. In one of the videos, Dr. Shayne Sebold Taylor admitted that these surgeries are labor-intensive and require a lot of follow-ups and time. She emphasized that they make money for the hospital.

In a statement to The Daily Wire, Republican governor Lee said, “The pediatric transgender clinic at VUMC raises serious moral, ethical, and legal concerns.”

“We should not allow permanent, life-altering decisions that hurt children or policies that suppress religious liberties, all for the purpose of financial gain,” Lee added.

“We have to protect Tennessee children, and this warrants a thorough investigation,” said the governor.

Walsh tweeted that the video from the Vanderbilt Psychiatry YouTube channel revealed that the medical center “explicitly admits” that they will give and have given irreversible hormone drugs to children as young as 13.

He closed the Twitter thread stating that Vanderbilt got into the gender transition game as they found it to be profitable.

“They then threatened any staff members who objected, and enlisted a gang of trans activists to act as surveillance in order to force compliance. They now castrate, sterilize, and mutilate minors as well as adults, while apparently taking steps to hide this activity from the public view,” Walsh tweeted.

“This is what ‘healthcare’ has become in modern America.”

In response, VUMC released a statement claiming to be victims of posts that “misrepresent facts.”
