SW News: As many as 24 men have been ordained to the priesthood in South Korea. Twenty-three of them received the ordination for the archdiocese of Seoul, while one of them received the priesthood for the Catholic Seoul International Mission Society.

The archdiocese established the Mission Society in 2005 to send missionaries to Latin America. The ordination that took place at Myeongdong Cathedral in Seoul was presided over by Archbishop Peter Chung Soon-taick. Hundreds of people, including the family members and relatives of the new priests, participated in the Mass. The number of men who were ordained to the priesthood at Myeongdong Cathedral last year was 23.

Seoul archdiocese, which has 232 parishes and more than 950 priests, serves 1.5 million Catholics. Around 6 million people in the country are Catholics.
