SW News:
The Australian Catholic University (ACU) has come out with an innovative search engine that enables internet users to quickly find answers to questions about Church teachings on various topics such as life issues, ethics, politics, and culture. The new search engine entitled EthicsFinder was endorsed by Sydney Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP, Archbishop Paul Gallagher, former Papal Nuncio of Australia, all the staff, researchers, and students of ACU.
John Haldane, Professor of Philosophy of Education at ACU and chair of the EthicsFinder Advisory Board, said, “We’ve created a research and study resource by combining the highly practical concept of a search engine with the wealth of ideas articulated in ethics, and especially Catholic ethics.”
The search engine will enable users to access Church materials on a whole range of issues and makes use of state-of-the-art search facilities. It is user-friendly and quickly connects users with vast resources on ethics, life, love, politics, philosophy, and culture.
EthicsFinder presents users with a short write-up of the historical background on different topics and provides thousands of links to articles, books, and videos. The search engine also displays issues based on the subject and the ratification of the magisterium. There are also filters to access reputable criticisms of the Catholic perspective regarding certain matters.
