SW News: Catholic faithful in the Italian town of Assisi are preparing to commemorate the second anniversary of the beatification of the millennial Blessed Carlo Acutis. The Sanctuary of the Spoliation Foundation of the St. Maria Maggiore Church has prepared well for the four-day celebrations, commencing on October 8 through October 12.

Faithful from across the world are expected to travel to the Italian town to participate in the celebrations. Expressing his joy, Fr Carlos Acácio Gonçalves Ferreira, the rector of the Shrine, stated, "It is incredible to see how many families, groups of young people, pilgrims from all over the world come here to know or deepen the life of Charles. His 'normality' is to attract and be an example for many."

To commemorate the anniversary, the Diocese of Assisi has prepared various events. Alongside the ceremonies, opening a soup kitchen, an international rosary, a release of the book based on the life of the millennial saint, and Eucharistic adoration are some of them.

It is the St. Maria Maggiore Church where the remains of Blessed Acutis rest. The celebrations will begin on October 8 with Holy Mass at 9 am local time. The same day, Antonia Salzano, Carlo's mother, will release a book, "My son's Secret". The celebrations of the first day will end with an exceptional Eucharistic adoration, 'My highway to Heaven'. These were the words of Blessed Acutis.

The second day, October 9, will be celebrated as a Day of Prayer, and an international rosary will be scheduled on the same day. In addition, there will be Holy Mass in the morning.

On Monday, October 10, the day of the second anniversary of the beatification, a canteen named after Blessed Acutis will be opened for the poor in the town of Assisi. The day's celebrations will also include rosary, followed by Eucharistic adoration and vespers.
