Pope Francis' February prayer intention calls on parishes to be true communities

SW News: Pope Francis released a video outlining his prayer intentions to start the month of February. In it, he encouraged parishes to be warm, welcoming places where everyone can speak out and be heard.
The pope said in the clip that every parish should put a sign on their door that says, "Free Admission," after displaying the lovely exterior of a parish church that was unoccupied until it was filled with people, making it even more beautiful.
Pope Francis made it clear in his comments that there are no prerequisites since parishes are not a club for the elite that offers a certain kind of social membership, according to a news release from the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network.
Parishes should be "close-knit communities, free of bureaucracy, people-centered—a forum where the gift of the Sacraments may be displayed," according to the pontiff.
The video showed how congregations from throughout the globe held gatherings, delivered sermons, assisted the needy, visited the elderly and ill, staged pageants, and participated in various kinds of worship both inside and outdoors to disseminate this message.
In his video, Pope Francis made it a point to emphasize the need for parishes to "become once more schools of service and generosity, with their doors continually open to those who are excluded." "If we are daring," the Pope said, we may be successful by rethinking "the architecture of our parochial communities" and "placing communion—a communion of people, ecclesial communion—at the heart."
