SW News: Pope Francis has offered prayers for the victims of Tuesday's devastating explosion in the Lebanese capital of Beirut which killed at least 137 people and injured about 5,000 others, with dozens still missing. Speaking during his General Audience at the Vatican on Wednesday, the Holy Father urged those present to pray for the victims, for their families; and for the people of Lebanon so that out of this week’s tragic and painful moment, the Near Eastern country may “overcome the grave crisis it is presently experiencing.” The cause of the explosion is not yet known. Lebanese President Michel Aoun has suggested that the blast was caused by nearly 3000 tons of ammonium nitrate stored unsafely in a Beirut warehouse.
