SW News: Nicaraguans will gather for the 2nd World Crusade of Prayer, "Eucharist for Bishop Rolando Alvarez" on Friday.  They are doing this to demonstrate their strong faith and solidarity in demanding the release of Bishop Alvarez and all other political prisoners.
The bishop was kidnapped on August 4, 2022. Later in February, he was imprisoned for 26 years and four months on false allegations of being a traitor to the country. In July, the prelate was freed from the ‘La Modelo’ prison where he was serving his term, but he remained in police custody and was imprisoned owing to failed negotiations.
The campaign calls for the active and peaceful participation of the believing Nicaraguans to unite in communion and prayer, and promoting the campaign's programming on social networks to broadcast the prayers and allow Nicaraguans to participate from anywhere, according to the statement.
