SW News: In Nigeria’s Kaduna state, there are reports that a Christian was murdered and 53 others were abducted on December 25. This took place after 40 believers were massacred a week before Christmas Day.

Fulani herdsmen and jihadist insurgents preyed on Angwan Aku village in Kajuru County in the morning, Christian Post quoted Morning Star News whose reporter spoke with a local resident James Akawu. He added: “Church worship service was about to commence when the attackers arrived at the village riding on motorbikes and shooting sporadically.” According to the eyewitness, one person was killed in cold blood and 53 others were taken away.

There are reports that in Kaura County, Fulani herdsmen and Jihadists killed 40 Christians on December 18 and three other believers were killed in Kagoro on December 23. Morning Star News quoted a local resident Jay Awan as saying, “We’re being attacked again by terrorists. There are gunshots everywhere again this night. This is worse. Please we need help.”

Eyewitnesses say that the assailants torched houses and barns before leaving the area. Following the attack, the head of the Evangelical Church Winning All Rev. Stephen Panya Baba sent a prayer request. The Church runs a Theological Seminary and College of Health Technology.

The media enterprise quoted another eyewitness Emmanuel Gandu as saying, “Family life has been disrupted, the lucky survivors have become refugees in their land waiting for palliatives in an endless genocide they can’t understand. Mass graves litter the community and the countryside. Our people can no longer go to their farms for fear of being gunned down or macheted.”

“Lamentably, the Fulani terrorist attacks have continued unabated as they are heard chanting, ‘Allah Akbar [Allah is greater]’ during the killing and destructive expeditions,” Gandu said. “It is on record that Kagoro has suffered 13 deadly attacks with catastrophic consequences from 2011 to Dec. 23, 2022.”
