Leah Sharibu still alive
News Desk
Friday, 06 Sep 2019
SW News: The Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari’s office has confirmed that Leah
Sharibu a Christian school girl that was kidnapped by terror group Boko Haram
one year ago is still alive. The federal government said that they are continuing
negotiations with Islamic State West African Province, a breakaway faction of
Boko Haram, for Leah’s release. Presidential spokesman Garba Shehu said that
“Instead of giving up, the government is carrying forward processes that
should hopefully yield her release by her captors.” Last year, Leah Sharibu was
abducted alongwith more than 100 other students of the Government Girls
Science and Technical Secondary School in north-east Nigeria. While the other
girls were released later, terrorists retained Leah because she refused to
renounce Christ.
