American pro-life outfits to celebrate first anniversary of Roe v. Wade reversal

SW News: Prominent pro-life organizations will host a "National Celebrate Life Day" rally and a gala in Washington, DC on June 24 to commemorate the first anniversary of the reversal of Roe v. Wade, the judgment which legalized abortion in the United States. The event will also inspire the pro-life community to make abortion both unavailable and unthinkable nationwide.
Students for Life of America or SFLA announced the event in a press release. The event co-hosted by SFLA, 40 Days for Life, Live Action, and Pro-Life Partners Foundation will take place from 10:30 am to noon on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial at the National Mall.
The statement said the pro-lifers are no longer hampered by the 1973 Roe decision in light of the 2022 Dobbs ruling, and they are excited to finally have more places to fight for the right to Life. It’s time to collectively reach for a new dream: The 14th Amendment for All. With Roe gone, they can re-affirm that the nation was built on the hope of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for all, including those not yet born.
SFLA president Kristan Hawkins said the 14th Amendment reads that no state shall deprive any person of life, liberty, or equal protection under the law, yet this is exactly what abortion does to most vulnerable citizens. Understanding the inclusion and protection of the preborn under this amendment is important to the Pro-Life Generation who will be acting on this legal reality in their legal and legislative drives.
The purpose is to protect American preborn children under the 14th Amendment to the Constitution. The event also serves to recognize the commitment, innovations, and sacrifices made by several unsung heroes over the first 49 years of the pro-life movement.
SFLA President Kristan Hawkins, Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch, Alveda King, niece of Martin Luther King Jr. and founder of Alveda King Ministries, Lila Rose, president of Live Action, and Shawn Carney, president of 40 Days for Life, are among the speakers scheduled to appear at the rally. Additional speakers will be announced in the days leading up to the gathering. The gala will take place at the Renaissance Washington DC Downtown Hotel at 7 pm.
