SW News: Bishop Donald DeGrood of Sioux Falls has announced his decision to consecrate the diocese to Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Joseph.

The consecration ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 12, the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

The bishop announced his decision in a video posted on the website of Sioux Falls diocese.

In the video, the bishop reflected on the apparition of the Virgin Mary at Guadalupe. He requested the faithful to pray and prepare for the consecration.

Bishop Donald DeGrood has been serving the diocese since February 13, 2020. St. Joseph is the patron saint of the Diocese of Sioux Falls.
