Metuchen diocese holds a 9-mile walking pilgrimage
News Desk
Friday, 11 Oct 2019
SW News: Singing songs of joy and praise to Jesus, around 700 Catholics participated in a nine-mile pilgrimage through the streets of New Jersey's Hunterdon County. The pilgrimage was part of the diocese’s preparation for consecration to Christ through Our Lady of Guadalupe, which will take place on her feast day on December 12th. During the pilgrimage participants prayed rosary and sang Marian hymns. Priests were available to hear confessions during the walk, and there was Eucharistic Adoration and a Holy Hour at the six-mile point of the pilgrimage. James Cecchio, Bishop of Metuchen celebrated Mass at the conclusion of the pilgrimage. Bishop Checchio urged the faithful to be open to sacrifice in their discipleship, and to commit their lives to Jesus.
