Cardinal Timothy Dolan to offer Mass in Ireland’s Armagh cathedral to mark its 150th anniversary

SW News: Cardinal Timothy Dolan, the Archbishop of New York, is poised to offer a special Mass in the renowned St. Patrick's Cathedral in Armagh, Ireland, to mark a historic occasion. This noteworthy event seeks to celebrate the cathedral's dedication and opening for worship on August 24, 1873.
The famous American prelate whose cathedral is also dedicated to St Patrick, the Apostle of Ireland, will be the main celebrant and during Holy Mass on Sunday, August 27, at 11 a.m. local time. The Archdiocese of Armagh has planned the special Mass to honor God for the outpouring of faith in the cathedral, and it will also organize a commemoration of the momentous event this week, from Thursday to Sunday.
Meanwhile, Archbishop Eamon Martin, the primate of all Ireland, has called on the people of Ireland and abroad, especially those whose forefathers were involved in the cathedral's construction, to join in thanksgiving and offer joyous prayers on this historic day.
The Shambles Yard is set to host an exciting outdoor event in an effort to bring families together.
The 'Celebration for Families' is slated to take place on Thursday, August 24, from 5 to 7 p.m., near the main gates of Armagh Cathedral, and a spectacular unveiling and dedication event for a precisely constructed Saint Patrick icon will occur for the Evening Prayer.
Archbishop Martin has been appointed to preside at Evening Prayer, while Bishop Michael Router, the Auxiliary Bishop of Armagh, and Cardinal Sean Brady, the emeritus Archbishop of Armagh, are in attendance.
