SW News: Ever since the pro-lifers across the world actively took part in the 40 Days for Life campaign that started on September 28 with prayers and abstinence, the results themselves are living testimonies. Over 500 unborn babies were saved from being killed in the womb when the campaign came to an end on November 6.
Nearly 12 abortion facilities were closed, and six abortion workers converted, leaving their jobs in these centers. The prayer campaign took place in more than 588 cities across 41 countries. Being the first prayer campaign post-Roe, hundreds of pro-life activists gathered outside various abortion facilities to pray, fast, and offer counseling to the carrying mothers during these 40 days. Through this, they sent a powerful message to society about the tragic reality of abortion.
The organizers of the largest pro-life prayer campaign shared a video citing various testimonies of mothers who changed their thoughts over abortion. They also shared thoughts about the buffer zones that intend to handcuff the silent prayers outside abortion centers.
40 Days for Life came into existence in 2004, intending to end the scourge of abortion through prayer, fasting, community outreach, and an all-day vigil for 40 days in front of abortion centers. The first-ever nationally coordinated campaign took place in 2007, spanning 33 states. The organization currently has a presence in 1,000 cities spanning 63 countries.
Since the beginning of the national campaign, 22,289 unborn lives have been saved from being killed in the womb, and 131 abortion clinics have been shut down. In addition, 242 abortion center employees have abandoned their jobs and become pro-life defenders.
