Ottawa:

Podcaster Tammy Peterson, the wife of the famous Canadian clinical psychologist and author Jordan Peterson, will become a Catholic next Easter. She is now going through the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) in preparation for her conversion. Tammy, a cancer survivor, revealed this in an interview with the Catholic Register journalist Sheila Nonato, which was published on October 27. “I will go through that, and at Easter, I will become Catholic,” she said, referring to her RCIA process. She was introduced to Catholicism and the Rosary devotion by her friend Queenie Yu while she was undergoing treatment at the hospital. Queenie Yu herself is a convert to Catholicism and now a Numerary member of Opus Dei.

In a podcast with the Word on Fire founder, Bishop Robert Barron, a few years ago, Jordan Peterson said that Tammy had been practicing praying the Rosary, and “it helped her maintain peace while she was facing death.” “She is listening to you on a regular basis,” Peterson had told Bishop Barron, who is well known for his commentaries related to faith and culture on social media. Though he does not identify as a Catholic, in a discussion with radio talk show host Dennis Prager at the PragerU summit in 2019, Peterson said, “I think that Catholicism—that’s as sane as people can get.”

Peterson gained widespread recognition through his YouTube channel and podcast appearances, where he discussed various topics, often focusing on issues related to political correctness and freedom of speech. In 2018, Peterson published a self-help book titled '12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos,' which became a bestseller. The book combines psychology, philosophy, and personal anecdotes to offer advice on living a meaningful and purposeful life.
