SW News: The Police department in Tulsa in the US state of Oklahoma arrested a man with a sword, and cocktails, who attempted to set fire to a downtown church building on Wednesday, October 5. Police arrested Daniel Edwards, who attacked the Holy Family Cathedral Church downtown.

The man stabbed a worker with a sword at Holy Family Cathedral School before pulling out a Molotov cocktail and throwing it at the side of the church after setting it alight. The culprit who fled was caught by the police soon.

After arresting the culprit, Tulsa Police Chief Wendell Franklin detailed the incident through a tweet. He said, "This is still an active investigation involving TPD, Bomb Squad, Tulsa Fire Marshals, and federal authorities. We are working with our federal partners on charges and will share more information as information becomes available."

Decrying the incident, Fr Gary Kastl, the Cathedral's rector, stated, "During this time, students were on the front steps of the Cathedral taking school pictures. We express our gratitude and appreciation for the faculty and staff who reacted quickly and immediately moved the students inside the school." He further said that the school would be placed under lockdown for two days so that the students could get over the same.

The priest also informed that a Holy Mass would be celebrated against the backdrop of the incident and invited all the faithful to participate.

Meanwhile, in a statement by the Department of Justice, Daniel was charged in federal court with "unlawful possession of an unregistered incendiary bomb." The school authorities said that classes at the school would be canceled for two days so that the students could get relief over the same.
