SW News: A week after the ghastly Texas school shooting, four people were shot dead inside a medical facility in the US state of Oklahoma. Several were injured as a man with a rifle and handgun opened fire on Wednesday, June 1, inside the Natalie Building near the St Francis Hospital in Tulsa. The building is used for sports medicine and orthopedic surgery.

In the wake of the attack, the Diocese of Tulsa has urged the faithful to pray for the victims of the shooting. In his message, Bishop David Konderla of Tulsa assured his closeness to all those who are affected by the tragedy. The diocese said on Twitter, "Bishop Konderla, several priests, and Religious Sisters of Mercy are on-site to offer pastoral support to those affected by the shooting."

Police officers verified that four civilians alongside the suspected shooter were killed in the attack. Deputy Chief of Tulsa police department Eric Dalgleish said in a press meet, "Right now, we have four civilians that are dead, and one shooter that is dead." He added that the unidentified shooter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The reasons for the attack are unknown.

Archbishop Paul Coakley of Oklahoma City also decried the shooting. Urging believers to pray for the deceased and those affected, the prelate stated, "We need to speak louder in defense of all human life from conception until the natural end, and find ways to stop the mass killing of innocent human beings."

In a statement, Governor Kevin Stitt said the shooting is a "senseless act of violence and hatred". He also assured his closeness and prayers to the victims and their families.
