Pro-life group asks Congress to probe profiteering from abortion pills

SW News: 40 Days for Life, the world's largest pro-life campaign, is demanding a congressional investigation into Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers for alleged profiteering from the sale of abortion pills in the United States.
Shawn Carney, co-founder, and CEO of 40 Days for Life sent a letter to the chairman and ranking member of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability to request that the committee open an investigation into whether abortion providers are profiting from selling the dangerous RU-486 abortion pills.
The abortion pill, formerly called RU-486 or mifepristone, is a drug used in a regimen with another medication called misoprostol to terminate a pregnancy within 70 days of conception. Carney wrote in the letter that pharmaceutical-induced abortions account for more than half of all abortions in America and the public deserves to know if companies like Planned Parenthood are profiting from this dangerous drug.
The FDA is currently supporting Big Pharma's proposal to allow mail-order and at-home usage of mifepristone for "do it yourself" abortions. Doctors and staff are no longer needed. No more ultrasounds to confirm gestational age or any in-house monitoring for complications for internal bleeding for a drug well established to cause life-threatening bleeding.
Many pro-life activists feel that sending out abortion pills appears to be the Biden administration's radical pro-abortion response to the Dobbs ruling by the Supreme Court and a thinly veiled partisan response by the White House that willfully disregards extensive safety concerns. Regrettably, it's just one more in a long line of instances when the FDA has disregarded conclusive clinical evidence that points in the opposite direction to enforce unproven regulations.
The FDA of today serves as a puppet for Big Pharma and President Joe Biden's White House. And sadly this brand-new, alarming tendency doesn't seem to be going away.
