USA’s Oklahoma takes another pro-life step with new website to support pregnant women

SW News: The American state of Oklahoma has taken yet another pro-life move by coming out with a new website that has been tailor-made to provide basic support and information to pregnant women, parents and families.
The website, www.oklahoma.gov/life is managed by the State Department of Health. It will empower women who are expecting a child by giving them all resources regarding prenatal care and postpartum support. According to Commissioner of Health Keith Reed, their vision is to lead the state to prosperity through health. "That starts at the beginning of life. We want to and need to be a resource for pregnant women in our communities as they navigate bringing a newborn baby into the world,” he said.
Reed said the cooperation between state agencies and community partners on information regarding support for families is key to meeting their needs before and after childbirth. The new website was hailed by Governor Kevin Stitt, who said in a statement that a child is a gift from God. “But a pregnancy can be a confusing and trying time without support,” he added, explaining the relevance of the website.
"The launch of this incredible resource is a reflection of our commitment to uplift and empower expectant mothers across Oklahoma. By consolidating all of this essential information and assistance into one convenient platform, we're hoping to strengthen the support system that every mom and family deserves,” said the governor.
Governor Stitt is staunchly pro-life and on June 24, 2022, when the United States Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade which legalized abortion half a century ago, he declared that his state has effectively banned abortions.
“When I ran for governor, I promised Oklahomans that I would sign every pro-life bill that came across my desk. I am thrilled to have kept that promise to get us to where we are today and I am proud to be called America’s most pro-life governor,” he said.
