SW News: Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle to lead baptism of 450 street children
Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, Archbishop of Manila will baptize 450 street children this week at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Manila. The children to be baptized are under the care of the Tulay ng Kabataan Foundation, which assists street children. The Foundation has been serving the poorest children in Manila since 1998.  In the Philippines, there has been a notion that one must pay in order to receive the Church’s sacraments. So Inorder to curb that mistaken notion, Archdiocese of Manila and Tulay ng Kabataan Foundation are collaborating to send a message to the poor people of The Philippines that the sacraments are for all, and not just for the rich.
