SW News:
On Sunday, March 21, Sydney in Australia will witness the annual pro-life rally to mark the ‘Day of the Unborn’. The event is being organized by the Life and Family Institute to uphold the sanctity of life.
The rally will begin from St. Mary’s Cathedral after Angelus, which follows the Holy Mass at 10.30 am celebrated by Archbishop Anthony Fisher. The march will be led by Archbishop Fisher and Auxiliary Bishop Richard Umbers. Rebecca Gosper, the director of LifeChoice Australia, will address the gathering at Parliament House. Participants of the march will reassemble at the cathedral for the benediction at 1:30 pm.
“It is a day to remember the millions of unborn children whose lives have been ended by the violence of abortion,” states the official website of the Life and Family Institute.
The Feast of the Annunciation, when our Lord Jesus was conceived in the womb of the Blessed Virgin, is internationally accepted as the ‘Day of the Unborn Child.’ It honours the dignity of all unborn children and the sanctity of life.
In 2019, Sydney witnessed a large gathering for the Day of the Unborn Child. Nearly 2,000 pro-lifers took part in the event. However in 2020, the Day of the Unborn Child procession was cancelled due to the pandemic restrictions.
