Hundreds of pro-lifers participate in March for Life rally in Brisbane

SW News:
About 1,000 pro-lifers attended the March for Life rally in Australia's Brisbane on April 30 to protest the Queensland Labor Government’s abortion-to-birth laws passed in 2018. The rally outside the Parliament House also observed a minute of silence to remember the approximately 90,000 babies aborted in Australia every year.
The sponsor for the event was Cherish Life Queensland, an organization that advocates for life from conception to natural death. The march encouraged citizens to vote for life in the upcoming federal elections.
The Termination of Pregnancy Act passed in Queensland in 2018 legalized abortion for any reason, even up to birth. The extreme laws also made sex-selective abortions legal and babies born alive in failed abortions could be left to die without providing life-sustaining treatments. The following year saw a 58% increase in abortions in Queensland.
National Party Senator Matt Canavan and Senator Amanda Stoker, the federal government’s assistant minister for women, spoke at the March for Life rally.
