Naypyidaw:

In a world where indifference rules, there is a glimmer of hope for a community in the forgotten country of Myanmar. A local source, who asked to remain anonymous, asserts that while the group feels ignored, Pope Francis has acknowledged the community's existence and shown genuine concern for its well-being.

This unexpected acknowledgment, which serves as a reminder to never give up, has reassured and inspired the Southeast Asian community. The devastating aftermath of the Civil War has impacted the country's religious landscape in addition to politics and culture. Convents and other sacred buildings have been devastated by the conflict, forcing religious people to flee in order to avoid being murdered by bombs or mortar shells.

He asserts that there is a global exodus of priests and nuns as people relocate from urban areas to rural or mountainous areas. He said it's to make sure the faithful have access to the sacraments and spiritual support they need during these terrible times. He says there is never an end to the search for spirituality and that some nuns have set up a listening service to help the general population psychologically by giving them a secure place to talk about their emotions and find solace in the concept of everlasting life.

Elsewhere, in a news release, Aid to the Church in Need, a Pontifical Foundation that supports Christians persecuted, expressed concern about the rising violence and displacement in Myanmar. Although churches supported the populace for three years during the Myanmar Civil War, an increasing number of individuals are now looking to them for protection. Sadly, churches have had to be forcefully evacuated, some have become combat zones, and Aid to the Church in Need is still in place.
