SW News: In response to COVID-19 pandemic, Cardinal Emeritus Stanisław Dziwisz of Archdiocese of Karkowska has invited the faithful to implore the intercession of St. Pope John Paul II for the end of pandemic.
The Cardinal requested Catholics to join in spirit to implore the mercy of God on April 2, the 15th death anniversary of St. John Paul II.
“I am deeply convinced that we need to, through the intercession of the Holy Pope, call upon the merciful God and to beg Him that the coronavirus pandemic would cease,” he said.
Cardinal Dziwisz was the personal secretary of Pope John Paul II for 39 years.
He concluded the message by praying for people suffering from the COVID-19 outbreak.
“Pour out your Spirit on our nation and the whole world, so that those who were united in the fight against disease would also be united in praising You, the Creator of the universe, and also zealously in the fight with the virus of sin that destroys human hearts,” prayed the Cardinal.
As per the reports of WHO, Poland has reported 1,862 positive cases of COVID-19 with the death toll rising to 22.
