Christian nurse sues UK clinic for forcing racist ideology

SW News: A Christian nurse in the United Kingdom is suing the Portman Clinic in North London for forcing students to learn a racist ideology. It was reported in the Telegraph that forensic psychology student Amy Gallagher claimed she has been discriminated against because of her Christian faith and race.
In October 2020, Amy said the clinic, which is part of The Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust, forced students to take part in a lecture titled “whiteness - a problem of our time,” which claimed that "the problem of racism is a problem of whiteness" and told students to confront "the reality of whiteness."
Amy became concerned when, in November, students were given an obligatory talk on race and racism by forensic psychoanalyst Dr Anne Aiyegbusi. “The lecturer spoke negatively about Christianity, while no other religions were mentioned. When I questioned this, I was told the Trust sees Christianity as responsible for racism because it is European. That's when I started to feel as though I wasn't welcome on the course and I wasn't comfortable with these ideas,” said Amy who claimed the lecture was 'politically biased', and had 'little or no reference to psychotherapy'.
She then attended a free public seminar online by Jungian psychoanalyst Helen Morgan, called Whiteness: A Problem for Our Time which concluded, among other things, that white people are unconsciously racist as a matter of course.
Amy, who is in the second year of her two-year course, said the NHS is forcing someone to adopt a racist ideology, and it needs to be stopped. The 33-year-old has so far used crowdfunding to raise over £21,000 on GoFundMe for the legal battle.
A spokesperson for the Trust said it was an ongoing legal case but said the organization is committed to being an anti-racist organization.
