SW News: The Republic of Croatia is sending EUR 30,000 to the victims of the terror attack on June 5 at the St Francis Xavier Church in Owo, Ondo state of Nigeria, that left 50 believers dead.
The humanitarian aid is being sent following the submission of a proposal by the Member of Parliament Marijana Petir, who is a Catholic, which was accepted by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gordan Grlić Radman.
The benevolent contribution will be handed over to the Croatian Caritas, which will then be used for funding various humanitarian activities that benefit the victims of the church attack.
The Croatian Government has been offering scholarships to young persecuted Christians since an amendment to the 2021 state budget, which was also passed as a result of Marijana Petir's proposal. The scholarships give youngsters who are persecuted for their faith a chance to study in Croatia.
