Fresh humanitarian aid packages from Korea sent to war-torn Ukraine

SW News: Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, the papal almoner, said that fresh humanitarian aid packages from Korea are being sent to Ukraine.
The Prefect of the Dicastery for the Service of Charity said that two truckloads of food have been sent to Ukraine. The papal almoner said a large Korean company had sent some 300,000 portions of freeze-dried broth to the Vatican to be distributed to people in the areas most affected by the war. The nutritious broth can be prepared easily by adding hot water.
Roughly 30 inmates of the Pope Francis Dormitory in Rome have helped in the unloading and delivery of the aid to the facilities of the Greek Catholic Parish of Santa Sophia. The 30 homeless volunteers helped to organize this shipment of gifts from Korea.
The papal almoner said truckloads of humanitarian aid have been sent 106 times since the war began.
In addition to bringing food, Cardinal Krajewski added that they will also open a house in Lviv for war widows and for mothers with children in a few weeks. The papal almoner said these gestures of solidarity with Ukraine can contribute towards peace.
The cardinal said it is important that those who are suffering know that they are not alone and that the Holy Father touches them in some way. He said that the Church helps everyone without distinction, distributing the gifts that are the fruit of people's generosity.
He reiterated the significance of the Pope's closeness, emphasizing that it is more crucial than ever as a new winter of conflict draws near. The Cardinal remarked, "This one scares me so much because I remember last winter when I was there, right in the middle of war zones. Since we accomplished so much last year, the Holy Spirit will now reveal to us what is required for the upcoming winter."
The almoner said it is crucial to be physically present where people are suffering the greatest, especially in order to avoid becoming accustomed to the thought of war.
"It is important to bear witness by being present, more than with gifts," he added.
