SW News: For World Youth Day in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon, there will be more than 480 events happening throughout the course of the week in more than 100 different locations from August 1 to 6. Young people and citizens will be able to experience these moments daily with the exception of when the Central Events will occur.

On August 1, Cardinal Manuel Clemente, the Patriarch of Lisbon, will preside over the Opening Mass at 7 pm local time on the Colina do Encontro. On August 3, Pope Francis will be meeting young people from all over the world during a welcome ceremony at 5.45 pm in Eduardo VII Park. The following day, the Way of the Cross with the Holy Father will take place at 6 pm, on the Colina do Encontro.
The pilgrimage to the location of the vigil, which is set for 8.45 pm in Campo da Graça, starts on the penultimate day of WYD. The Pope will pray before the Blessed Sacrament here with the young believers.

On the final day, the Missioning Mass is at 9 am in Campo da Graça, where pilgrims will stay overnight to attend this moment. Pope Francis will also meet the WYD Lisbon 2023 volunteers in Algés at 4.30 pm to thank them for their collaboration. Pilgrims will also be able to visit the City of Joy from August 1 to 4. The Vocation Fair can be visited between 9 am and 10 pm on August 2 while the Park of Forgiveness will be open between 9 am and 8 pm. The Rise UP Encounters will take place between 9.30 am and 12.30 pm across the host dioceses.
