SW News: On Thursday, November 14, The Medical Board of the Congregation for Saints' Causes expressed a positive opinion on an alleged miracle attributed to the intercession of Carlo Acutis, a young Italian boy who died at the age of 15. The miracle concerns the healing of a Brazilian boy.
The following information was posted on the official website of the Carlo Acutis Association:
"On Thursday morning, 14 November 2019, the Medical Board of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints met. The medical experts expressed position opinion regarding an alleged miracle attributed to the intercession of the Venerable Carlo Acutis. The Process of the Cause of Canonization of the Venerable continues in the Vatican Dicastery."
Carlo Acutis was declared Venerable by Pope Francis on 5 July 2018.
Archbishop Domenico Sorrentino of Assisi said that if the other steps foreseen in the process are also positive, it is expected that the beatification is not far away. "We continue to pray that the Lord will soon glorify his servant, to encourage the journey of holiness of the whole Church, especially the young," Archbishop Sorrentino added.
Carlo Acutis was born in London in the year 1991. His parents raised him as a devout Catholic. At the age of 7, Carlo Acutis received his first holy communion. Carlo was a computer genius. He created a catalog of Eucharistic miracles around the world.
In 2006 Carlo Acutis was diagnosed with leukemia. He offered his pain for both Pope Benedict XVI and for the Universal Church. Carlo was called to his eternal reward on October 12, 2006.
