Colombia:

The Congress office of the South American country of Colombia hosted a Great Rosary event for the Republic on October 13. More than 150 people, including parliamentarians, priests, and laypeople, took part in the initiative led by Senator Mauricio Giraldo and the member of the chamber, Luis Miguel López,

The event began with the enthronement of the Virgin of the Rosary of Fátima in the Elliptical Hall of Parliament. It was followed by Marian musical renditions performed by the Police Orchestra.

Mons. Pedro Mercado, the chaplain of Congress, then celebrated Holy Mass. In his homily, the prelate said that the Eucharistic celebration is for peace in the Holy Land and Colombia. He also reminded the faithful gathered to trust God, be serene, and have gratitude towards everything they have around them. The chaplain added that these are three gifts from the heart of the Immaculate Conception so that we may be like her.

The event was concluded with the recitation of the Holy Rosary, in which more than 14,000 believers took part online.

The Great Rosary was the conclusion of six months of prayer that commenced on May 13 of this year. Congress members, government representatives, and Catholic missionaries from diverse communities gathered in Colombia during this time every month to pray to God for the nation and the difficult times it was going through.
