Global community expresses solidarity with victims of quakes in Turkey, Syria

SW News: Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday that 45 countries have offered help with search-and-rescue efforts in quake-hit Turkey and Syria. In light of reports of additional earthquakes, shockwaves, and lowering temperatures that will leave many fighting for their lives, the international community is geared up in every way to support and aid the most impacted places.
The emergency medical team’s network of the World Health Organization has been launched, according to Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, head of the organization, to provide vital medical care for the injured and most vulnerable people affected by the earthquake.
Two teams from India's National Disaster Response Force, made up of 100 people, were prepared to be airlifted to the disaster area for search and rescue operations. These teams included specially trained dog squads and equipment. In collaboration with the Turkish government, medical personnel were getting ready and relief supplies were being deployed.
UK’s foreign minister James Cleverly announced on Monday that Britain will immediately dispatch emergency response personnel, sniffer dogs, and equipment to Turkey. Cleverly tweeted that the UK is giving Turkey rapid support including a team of 76 search and rescue personnel, equipment and rescue dogs. The team was set to arrive late on Monday at Gaziantep in south-eastern Turkey.
Russian President Vladimir Putin extended condolences and a message of support to the leaders of Turkey and Syria, where Russian troops have been assisting the Syrian military.
To help with rescue operations in Turkey, Malaysia has sent 70 members of its elite Special Malaysia Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team. The squad was made up of medical experts, a hazardous chemical materials team, and the fire and rescue services department's K9 unit.
President Yoon Suk-yeol of South Korea has given the order to send rescue personnel and emergency medical supplies to Turkey. According to a statement from the presidential office, Yoon "directed various government departments... to come up with further support measures in case Turkey needs them."
