SW News: As fighting between Russian troops and Ukrainian soldiers continues in Ukraine, another terrorist attack, as claimed by the Ukrainian President, was reported in the besieged Eastern European nation. Russian missiles struck the central Ukrainian city of Vinnytsia on Thursday, July 14, killing at least 23 people, including three children, and injuring scores.

Addressing the incident as "an open act of terrorism," President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the attack targeted civilians in non-military areas. In a video address to the European Union officials meeting at The Hague in the Netherlands to discuss the war crimes, President Zelensky stated, "There were eight rockets, two of which hit the center of the city. Twenty people have died, including three children. In addition, there is a large, large number of wounded."

Ihor Klymenko, the head of the national police, stated that only six bodies had so far been identified and three of the deceased were children under the age of 10. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, 34 of the 66 hospitalized patients suffered severe injuries, while five are still in a critical condition.

Three Russian missiles struck an office building and the nearby residential structures. According to the State Emergency Service, the missiles struck the nine-story office building's parking lot, which ignited a fire in the cars parked there.

The Russian defense ministry has not yet responded to the strike, despite denying targeting civilians.

As many as 141 days have passed since the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24. More than 9.1 million refugees have left the country, and an estimated 8 million people have been internally displaced. Ninety per cent of the refugees are women and children.

Meanwhile, the International Criminal Court in The Hague has opened a tribunal to investigate the war cries in Ukraine following the invasion.
