SW News: A song from the movie on Blessed Carlo Acutis has been released. The movie ‘Heaven Can't Wait’ is based on the life of the saintly teenager who died of cancer in a hospital in Monza, Italy, in 2006, offering all his sufferings for the Church and the Pope.
The video clip of the official song of the film coincides with the second anniversary of his beatification. The movie, which is scheduled for release before the end of the year, highlights the milestones of the life of the young Anglo-Italian who died of leukemia. The documentary directed by Spaniard José María Zavala has four testimonies of young people whose lives were transformed by the intercession of Blessed Acutis.
The song was composed and performed by Luis Mas, who in 2018 competed in the musical talent program Operación Triunfo. The producer of the movie said that the 15-year-old who plays Acutis bears “an amazing physical resemblance to him”.
The Italian town of Assisi where the relics of the young Blessed is enshrined is hosting various special events, such as the inauguration of a soup kitchen, Eucharistic adoration, and conferences.
A book written by Acutis’ mother Andrea titled “The Secret of Son” was also presented on the occasion. She said that "it is not easy to grasp the individuality of a person if you have not entered into a direct relationship with her. That's why I wanted to try to tell my son's story, writing a book from the heart and trying to help his many devotees to know and love him."
The five-day celebration will close on Wednesday evening with a Mass presided over by Bishop Domenico Sorrentino of Assisi and a concert.
