SW News: South Sudanese Bishop Matthew Remijio of Wau Diocese has urged the Christians in the country to engage in acts of forgiveness and reconciliation to enjoy a joyous Christmas. On Monday, December 19, during the opening of the Christmas Carols organized in his Episcopal See, Bishop Remijio emphasized the importance of "showing love and peace" during the holiday season.
During the ceremony, which was held at the Auxilium Basic School, the prelate said, "For us to spend Christmas in gladness, we need to reconcile, forgive, and have peace with one another." He added, "We should pray that this Christmas may inspire us all to seek reconciliation and peace instead of division and indifference."
For Christians to coexist peacefully and harmoniously with their neighbors, they must ask forgiveness during the Christmas season, according to the prelate who is also a member of the Comboni Missionaries.
The bishop focused on the need to seek forgiveness, despite the challenges faced by the faithful of the North African country, and urged them to "pray for God's guidance and blessings throughout the celebrations." He also wished all faithful that they may experience the joy and peace of Christ in this festive season.
The bishop further implored, "May the joy of Christmas empower us to move from darkness to light, from violence to peace towards ourselves, our neighbors, and the country."
