Arkansas Governor Sanders to overhaul educational sector, protect values

SW News: When other American states are indoctrinating the curriculum with Leftist and gender ideology, the Sarah Sanders administration in the state of Arkansas has unveiled bold educational reforms that respect traditional values. Governor Sanders initiated the reforms entitled LEARNS after finding that only 35 percent of Grade III children can read even though the state spent nearly half of its budget on education.
The LEARNS reforms will comprehensively tackle pressing issues such as dismal school districts, the non-existence of parental choice provisions and the acute scarcity of teachers. The reforms will ensure that parents have the right to decide when it comes to providing quality education to their children.
As part of the reforms, parents will now decide the school that is best suited for the needs of their children irrespective of where they live and what their income is. There will be Education Freedom Accounts that permit families to place their children in schools of their choice whether they are private, public, Church-run or even homeschooling. The bill will also prevent any sort of sexual, gender-based or Left-leaning ideologies in study materials in schools.
Arkansas will raise the salary of a teacher from 36,000 dollars to 50,000 dollars apart from giving all teachers a pay hike as part of the bill stipulating such reforms. When implemented, the state will leave its 48th position in the ranking of starting pay for teachers and rise to the top five.
LEARNS also mandates that students have to undertake 75 hours of community service if they have to graduate from high school. During graduation, they will be given dual-track diplomas that will benefit students who apply for a job.
Sanders has also promised to deploy 120 reading coaches across Arkansas and provide $500 tutoring grants to students who are struggling. She has set the ball rolling to overhaul the educational sector a month after being sworn in.
