SW News: Four members of the Red Rose Rescue, including Fr. Fidelis Moscinski and Fr. Stephen Imbarrato were arrested last Thursday for trying to dissuade mothers who had come to abort their babies at two different late-term abortion facilities in Washington, D.C. The Red Rose Rescue is a peaceful outreach organized by Citizens for a Pro-Life Society to rescue unborn babies from abortion.

The arrest of Fr. Fidelis Moscinski occurred at Capital Women’s Services which offers abortions even up to 36 weeks of pregnancy. Fr. Moscinski, a Franciscan Friar of the Renewal, and pro-lifer Will Goodman were arrested for entering the facility to encourage mothers to keep their babies.

The arrest of Fr. Stephen Imbarrato and his fellow pro-lifer Linda Mueller took place at Washington Surgi-Center for offering information about pregnancy resource centers to women entering the facility.

Known as the ‘Protest Priest,’ Fr. Imbarrato is one of the leaders of the Red Rose Rescue movement. “All the rescuers risking arrest trying to save these babies are serious Catholics and other Christians and thus are additionally motivated by the fact that these governments which sanction, protect and fund the murder of babies have, in this COVID-19 crisis, deemed these murders as ‘essential’ while proclaiming the Catholic Church ‘non-essential,’ he said to LifeNews.com

The Red Rose Rescue volunteers quietly approach mothers in the parking lot or inside the abortion clinics to offer them red roses and information about local pregnancy resource centers. They do not block clinic entrances or procedure rooms.

The states of Michigan and Washington have allowed the functioning of abortion clinics during the coronavirus pandemic while life-saving surgeries are being postponed.
