SW News: In the American state of Pennsylvania, Governor Josh Shapiro has extended support for the school choice initiative that empowers parents allowing them to choose the best school for their children with the help of financial help from the government.

On Friday, Governor Shapiro defended school choice. This came in the background of the debate over whether parents ought to be given state-financed or school district-funded scholarships, which are also known as school vouchers. This enables children to attend private schools of their parents' choice.

Parents support this initiative as it empowers them to choose a school that adheres to their religious and moral tenets. Shapiro’s move comes at a time when several states in the USA are taking measures to curb homosexuality and gender agenda from invading the classroom.

The governor said, "Let me just say, in general, I believe every child of God deserves a shot here in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and one of the best ways we can guarantee their success is by making sure every child has a quality education."

"I've been very clear that I'm open to that concept that you described a moment ago, but I've also made crystal clear that I won't take a dollar out of our public schools in order to achieve that,” said Shapiro.

He said that much more needed to be invested in children. “I want to make sure we give, as I said, every child of God an opportunity to be successful. I think education is key to that. Public safety is key to that. Growing our economy is key to that."

"All three of those things fit together to give us an opportunity to make sure everyone has a chance to succeed here in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania."
