Pro-lifers march in USA’s Ohio to defend unborn

SW News: Pro-life supporters in the American state of Ohio marched to the Statehouse in Columbus on Wednesday demanding an end to abortions. Thousands gathered to raise their voice for the unborn. In the March for Life, more than 40 pro-life organizations volunteered to sponsor the event together with various churches and religious clusters.
The rally for life was highlighted by the presence of speakers from Citizens for Christian Virtue and Ohio Right to Life. In the march, some protesters were seen praying the Hail Mary. Others held signs that read "Choose me mom," "Speak up for the voiceless" and "Abortion is America's Holocaust."
On June 24, the US Supreme Court voted to overturn Roe v Wade, the ruling that gave the constitutional right to abortion in 1973. With the repeal of that path-breaking verdict, it was left to individual states to decide whether to legalize or ban abortions. Soon, Ohio’s 2019 law banning abortions when fetal cardiac activity is detected, at around six weeks, came into effect. But this trigger law was temporarily blocked by a federal judge in Hamilton County, allowing abortions even beyond 20 weeks. The march was held to seek an end to this brutality.
“The fight here in Ohio is just beginning,” said 28-year-old State Representative Jena Powell. She continued by saying, Science has already proved that “life does not just begin at the time the heartbeat is detected. Life begins at conception.”
Aaron Baer, president of the Center for Christian Virtue and a cosponsor of the Ohio March said “If we really want to see an end to abortion, to see women protected and unborn children saved, we can’t stop now. First, we need to ensure Ohio prohibits abortion at the very point of conception.”
Referring to the Ohio motto, Aaron encouraged the protesters saying, "with God, all things are possible."
The speakers at the event stressed passing a new law that would end abortion from the moment of conception.
