US Embassy in Moscow appeals to Americans residing in Russia to leave the nation

SW News: In the background of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s "partial mobilization" decree that was announced on September 21 to conscript 300,000 people to fight in Ukraine, the US Embassy in Moscow appealed to every American residing in Russia to leave the nation at the earliest.
"Russia may refuse to acknowledge dual nationals’ US citizenship, deny their access to US consular assistance, prevent their departure from Russia, and conscript dual nationals for military service," the embassy stated on Tuesday.
A statement released by the US embassy stated that the chances of leaving Russia have become more difficult as there are fewer commercial flights and border checkpoints have become more crowded.
"Those residing or traveling in Russia should depart Russia immediately while limited commercial travel options remain," the embassy added.
As Russia needs some 300,000 more men for the war in Ukraine which has reached its seven-month, hundreds of thousands of conscription-age men are fleeing the country.
Images of airports flooded with people have already surged the social media and Finland’s border checkpoint officials stated that thousands of cars have already clogged the highways as Russian men are fleeing the president’s decree for partial mobilization.
As per the reports, Russian men capable of participating in wars are fleeing to Finland, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Mongolia. The White House on Tuesday reported that it would accept Russian men who refrain from joining the war in Ukraine.
According to Novaya Gazeta Europe, an independent Russian newspaper, some 261,000 men had already flown to the country soon after the President’s announcement of the mobilization.
The US embassy has already advised the Americans in Russia that the State Department has limited ability to support them as the pressures between Moscow and Washington have worsened to a level that has not been seen before.
