US pro-lifers hail Planned Parenthood’s decision to lay off staff at national office, focus on non-abortion care

SW News: Champions of the sanctity of life in the United States are hailing the announcement of an abortion industry behemoth’s decision to lay off staff at its national office. This comes in the background of Planned Parenthood announcing that it is slashing 15 percent of jobs in its main office to raise funds for providing non-abortion care in states having pro-life measures in place.
On May 23, Planned Parenthood made the announcement that between 10 and 15 percent of employees would be laid off next month and up to 100 staff could be affected in the process. Money saved from the layoffs would be utilized to finance non-abortion services in those states where strict pro-life laws are in place. The services include sexually transmitted disease testing, cancer screenings, contraception and gender realignment surgery.
Speaking to Fox News Digital, Marjorie Dannenfelser, the president of Susan B Anthony Pro-Life America, said that it was no coincidence that while popular pro-life measures that save the unborn are gaining currency in several states such as North Carolina, South Carolina and Nebraska, “we are seeing cutbacks and layoffs impacting Planned Parenthood".
Danenfelser expressed happiness that the abortion behemoth has been forced to reduce the number of employees to protect their bottom line while pro-life initiatives matching the will of the people are progressing in various American states. "Those measures include millions of dollars in compassionate care for mother and child in need of financial and physical resources."
In a similar vein, President of March for Life Education and Defense Fund Jeanne Mancini said in an interview with Fox News Digital that “It is heartening to see strong pro-life momentum building across the country as states continue to reaffirm the humanity and dignity of the unborn child, and enact commonsense protections for innocent human life."
"Abortion giant Planned Parenthood's recent move to cut staff from their national office and reallocate funds to its state affiliates is indicative of the changing culture in which more and more Americans have awakened to see the beauty of unborn life, the horrors of abortion, and the need to stand up in states around the country to protect our nation's most vulnerable.”
The fact that Planned Parenthood is planning layoffs and shifting its funding focus demonstrates the ramifications caused by the US Supreme Court’s landmark ruling last year which overturned Roe v. Wade. With the repeal of the verdict that legalized abortion in the United States half a century ago, the pro-life movement is gaining momentum in the country.
