USA witnesses more than 270 attacks on Catholic churches since May 2020

SW News: According to data published by catholicvote.org, a non-profit Catholic advocacy group, hundreds of Roman Catholic churches have been attacked across the United States since widespread unrest began in May 2020 following the murder of George Floyd.
Additionally, the non-profit organization Family Research Council, which conducts studies and provides educational programs, has published a study titled "Hostility Towards Churches Is Growing in the United States." According to the findings, the torching and vandalism of churches are indicators of a broader fall in public esteem for religious institutions like churches and Christianity.
"The primary purpose is not economic gain," the survey said since the "vast majority" of attacks involved property damage. Since the start of political turmoil on May 28, 2020, at least 278 Catholic churches in the United States have been attacked.
Catholicvote.org reported fires, damaged glass, headless statues, and satanic graffiti at churches. Since the anticipated Supreme Court justices’ opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson's Health Organization was leaked in May 2022, 118 incidents have been recorded across the country.
In a letter to the Department of Justice in December 2021, Catholicvote president Brian Burch reported at least 114 attacks on churches since May 2020 and claimed that the department's leadership had made "no meaningful effort to raise awareness or address the disturbing rise in hate-filled attacks on Catholic religious symbols, shrines, statues, and churches."
On January 28, 2022, Associate Attorney General Vanita Gupta answered Burch's letter, assuring him of a "15-day review to verify that all relevant resources are being deployed to defend places of worship."
Meanwhile, in FRC’s survey, it was said that "Americans feel more comfortable lashing out at church structures," which is indicative of a bigger cultural problem of marginalizing essential Christian ideas.
The FBI was cited as stating in a statement to Fox News Digital, "The FBI works closely with our law enforcement partners to investigate threats and assaults against places of worship." These investigations are sometimes performed by the FBI and local and state law enforcement and prosecuted under state legislation.
