Australian PM sparks controversy for defining a woman as 'adult female'

SW News:
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has invited the ire of pro-homosexual activists on Twitter for defining "woman" in accordance with the term's conventional biological meaning.
In an interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, Albanese, the leader of Australia's center-left Labour Party who was elected last May, provided the remarkably straightforward definition of womanhood.
The host of the TakTV interview posed the straightforward question, "What is a woman?" to the prime minister. This subject has gained attention since activists for the rights of homosexuals have persuaded politicians and significant segments of society to recognize that biological men can identify as women.
The Prime Minister replied to the question, "An adult female." Despite his dislike of confrontation on these matters of culture, Albanese's response sparked some discussion among pro-homosexual leftists on Twitter.
According to a 2013 Pew Research study, 79% of Australians thought that homosexuality should be tolerated by society, ranking Australia as the fifth-most accepting nation worldwide.
On December 9, 2017, same-sex marriage was made legal in Australia. Since 2003, same-sex couples have been eligible for domestic partnership benefits and relationship recognition.
Since 2009, federal legislation has recognized same-sex couples' relationships as de facto.
States or territories may recognize same-sex relationships in a variety of ways, including through civil unions, domestic partnerships, registered relationships, and/or unregistered de facto relationships, in addition to marriage.
According to the 2016 Census, there were around 46,800 same-sex couples in Australia.
In Australia, homosexual rights have been rejected by the leaders of a number of Christian faiths, including the Roman Catholic Church and the Anglican Church. The Roman Catholic Church continues to teach that sexual activity should only be conducted by married couples of the opposite sex, according to the Catholic Archbishop of Sydney Cardinal George Pell, and it continues to oppose legalizing any extramarital sexual activity as well as any "homosexual propaganda" among young people.
