SW News: Stop Genocide, an anti-genocide group, has petitioned the Czech Senate with over 14,000 signatures to amend the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms to include the right to life from conception.

A petition must have more than 10,000 signatures to be reviewed by the Senate as per the law of the country. Stop Genocide, which regards abortion as a kind of genocide against unborn children, is trying to abolish abortion legal safeguards that have been in place since 1986 in the nation. It also attempts to modify the Fundamental Rights and Freedoms Charter.

The organization is increasingly pushing to expand the current statement of "Everyone has the right to life, human life is deserving of protection even before birth" in the Charter to include "everyone has the right to life from conception to natural death."

According to the group, abortion is "unprecedented violence leading to death" since it normalizes murdering people along the way. Proponents of genocide abortion, according to the organization, diminish the humanity of the unborn child in order to excuse the wholesale death of innocents.

Meanwhile, the group's website says that 62,000 people have signed the petition both in person and online over the course of a decade.

Abortions are permitted in the Czech Republic up to the first three months without providing any reason. It is allowed until six months of gestation if there are fears that the child suffers from a genetic disorder. As per the Institute of Health Information and Statistics, there were 3.3 million abortions in the Republic between 1957 and 2013.
