Gaza:

As Israeli forces, assisted by US warships, conducted drills on Monday in preparation for what Israel claimed would be a massive effort to crush the Islamic militant group Hamas, relief organizations warned that an Israeli ground offensive may expedite the mounting humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.
More than a million residents of the Gaza Strip have abandoned their homes in preparation for an anticipated Israeli attack to overthrow Hamas' leadership after its deadly incursion ten days ago.  According to local sources, logistical preparations are being made to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and permit the departure of foreign nationals and Palestinians who hold dual citizenship. Israel reportedly confirmed to Reuters that it has reached a five-hour ceasefire with the US and Egypt to open the Rafah crossing.
Neighborhoods in Gaza City and other parts of the Gaza Strip have been completely destroyed by airstrikes over the course of a week, but Palestinian rocket fire into Israel has not been curbed. Over 4,000 individuals on both sides have already died in the war, and many more have been injured. Residents in Gaza who are trapped claim there is nowhere safe to flee.
Jordanian HR director of UNRWA discusses the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza and calls for adherence to humanitarian law.
Antonino Brusa, the director of human resources for UNRWA, said at least 14 UNRWA employees in Gaza have died, UN shelters have been bombed, and as of right now, the Jordanian headquarters of the United Nations Agency for Relief and Works for Palestine Refugees in the Near East only have information about the destruction of their Gaza office and the burning of its archives.
Brusa said UNRWA’s Human Resources staff has relocated to the south but getting in touch with them is difficult. He confirmed that there has been no electricity, water, or fuel for more than a week and claimed it is difficult for them to recharge their phones and too dangerous to go outside during the bombs. Brusa said the most pressing need right now is drinking water. He also emphasized the fact that it was for the first time that airstrikes were targeting UN buildings. Brusa said that since last Thursday, 14 staff have been killed, and he fears the figure may be considerably higher, confirming that there is currently nowhere safe to travel in Gaza. It is unfortunately impossible to verify any facts, he continued.
Approximately 1 million people, or nearly half of Gaza's total population, are currently displaced. Brusa said in the south and centre of the Gaza Strip, in Khan Younis and Rafah, there are presently 600,000 people who are internally displaced. About 400,000 of them are housed in UN buildings that are having trouble providing for their requirements. He expressed grief for not being able to help or protect those in need and claimed that they were so crowded that it was unimaginable for them to offer any psychological support or assistance.
