SW News: One of the most memorable pictures of the World Youth Day of 2013 held at Rio de Janeiro was that of a nine-year-old boy and the Pope embracing each other. Breaking past the barriers, the boy had made his way to the popemobile to let the Pope know his desire to become a priest.

It was an emotional moment for both, and the Holy Father had assured him of his prayers. The boy, Nathan de Brito, was told by the Pope, "As of today, your vocation is set."

After eight years, just as the Holy Father had said, Nathan is pursuing his religious vocation. He is currently a Postulant of the Order of Friars Minor in Rondonópolis, Mato Grosso, Brazil.

Bishop Dom Joaquim Wladimir Lopes Dias of the Diocese of Lorraine, São Paulo, shared a picture of himself with a beaming Nathan on Facebook recently. Nathan could be seen wearing a pectoral cross similar to the one worn by Pope Francis.
