SW News: Renewed Slovakian violinist, Andrej Matis has been ordained as a priest for the prelature of Opus Dei on Saturday.

He was ordained by the Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin along with 28 other priestly candidates. Being a professional violinist, Matis had performed in many countries across Europe.

He was a part of Mucha Quartet, a Slovakian string quartet. After discovering his divine call, Matis left his professional career to become a Catholic priest.

Only a few people were able to attend the ordination ceremony due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The founder of Opus Dei was a Spanish priest, St. Josemaría Escrivá. Opus Dei is a personal prelature of the Catholic Church.

The current prelate of Opus Dei is Monsignor Fernando Ocáriz.
