SW News: The Archbishop of San Francisco in the U.S. State of California is to lead the city’s Catholics in a Eucharistic procession this Sunday morning in order to pray for a reopening of churches for public worship. Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone, along with many of his clergy and lay faithful, will process past the city’s seat of government at U.N. Plaza before making their way to Saint Mary’s Cathedral where Holy Mass will be offered. Earlier this week, the mayor of San Francisco announced that houses of worship will only be allowed 50 people at a religious service and only if that service is held outdoors. Archbishop Cordileone believes such restrictions are unconstitutional, arbitrary and single out religious groups for uniquely punitive treatment compared to other areas of life such as business, retail and leisure.
