SW News: Renowned Catholic theologian Scott Hahn’s son Jeremiah Hahn has been ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Steubenville in Ohio, USA. The ordination ceremony, which took place on May 21, was presided over by Bishop Jeffrey M. Monforton at St Peter Catholic church.
The bishop expressed his wishes to Fr Jeremiah saying that “May he model his priesthood after Jesus Christ, who came not to be served, but to serve.”
Scott Hahn requested prayers for his newly ordained son. “Please pray for Jeremiah. Pray for his fidelity above all. But pray too that he will, like Jesus in his ministry, and like God in the act of creation, do “all things well”, echoing chapter 7, verse 37 of the gospel of Mark. For he will not only be working for God; he will be doing God’s work, with God’s hands," he said on Facebook.
“At the end of every day, may he be able to look back and see the good (indeed the marvels) God has worked through the blessed hands of a man from eastern Ohio,” Scott Hahn added.
Dr Hahn and his wife Kimberley are converts to Catholicism. Scott Hahn published a book, “Rome Sweet Home”, in 1993, describing the couple’s conversion journey to the Catholic faith. He is currently working as a professor at the Franciscan University of Steubenville and is also a member of Opus Dei.
